We are delighted that after the administrative error of last year, when the local council temporarily downgraded our hygiene rating through no fault of our own, we have not only been returned to our previous rating but have been upgraded to 5 star hygiene status at the latest inspection. 
To all of our customers who have shown great loyalty over this difficult time we say a big THANK YOU and look forward to welcoming them back now that we have finally received the recognition that our dedication to hygiene deserves. 
We are delighted that after the administrative error of last year, when the local council temporariliy downgraded our hygiene rating through no fault of our own, we have not only been returned to our previous rating but have been upgraded to 5 star hygiene status at the latest inspection. 
 
The error occurred when a health official visited Rajmoni Cuisine in September 2016 and spoke to one of our kitchen staff who does not speak very good English. Rather than wait or reschedule, the official went ahead anyway and our staff member became very confused with the questions and gave incorrect answers. 
 
The result was that we received notification that our hygiene rating was being downgraded to just 1 star. We were horrified at this and immediately contacted the council to explain that the person they spoke to was not qualified to answer the questions and request that they revisit when someone better able to give them the correct information was available. 
 
When the council made a second visit in November, they indicated that we would be suitable for being awarded a 5 star hygiene rating but as they could not rate us higher than our previous status they were only able to return us to 4 stars. The reason given was that they could only raise the rating by 3 stars at any one time. We pointed out that it should never have been reduced in the first place but this fell on deaf ears and that we would have to wait for the next scheduled inspection in September 2017. 
 
This review has now taken place and we are thrilled that we have at last received the correct rating.
